Utility Store

 As we entered 2023, the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan defined some new rules for purchasing at Utility Stores, which were widely used by low-income people. First, there was an OTP system back in 2020, which has been reintroduced again which is a good step toward transparency. Now the new method of buying is, a person will send their CNIC number on 5566. They will receive a code that would be valid for One transaction in a maximum of 15 days. Then they will travel to the nearest Utility Store and stand in a queue. When they get their turn, they will show their CNIC to the staff. When the staff verifies them then they will get the subsidies for items that Oil, Wheat, and Sugar.  As we see this process is very transparent but difficult too. In a country like Pakistan, most of its population is illiterate. The question raises How will they manage to do so?  That question will raise in many minds. Hopefully, we get the answer soon

There are thousands of people waiting for their turn to buy subsidized items. They wait for their turn for hours. Hopefully, the govt will introduce some new ideas to give relief to the people.
